Braam is married with three kids and Loves his office personnel (two dogs and three cats).
He enjoys watching animals and their tricks and suspicions about life.

Braam has a BComm and THed. In December 2002 he wrote his ICC.

Braam did his CCC in December 2003 and learned the tricks of the trade from Hub Paquay

Achievements

He is working on the Standard Generating Groups for the Project Control Standards.

He has taken over as Presenter of Cost Engineering Courses from Hub Paquay.
Wrote ICC examination after six months and successful wrote the CCE in December 2003.
All candidates that done the course passed the AACE International examination

Got the position as Principle of Magalies School (former known as Sonnestraal), LSEN School with a bank balance of R12 000 in 1997. In 1999, he resigned from the Department of Education. The school's bank balance was R150 000 on a fixed deposit and R30 000 on a current account.
The following was achieved by transforming a school with 767 learners and a staff of 45 with two Vice Principals from a LSEN School to an Outcome Base Education Training Center. He has paved the way for outcome base education in South Africa.

Established a Security Training Center, which was accredited by POSLEI SETA

Building industry :

A Paint Center was established were learners were trained in the skills of decorating and painting. The success of this center is manifested in the appearance of an exceptional well looked after school.
The pupils involved handle projects were they plaster a wall and decorate it according the clients taste.
There was also a learner ship in plumbing that completed actual fieldwork.

Motor industry :

Panel Beating & Spray Painting:
Taught the learners to do panel beating by transforming written off motorcars (Code 3). After the road worthy tests the cars were sold on the open market.

Motor Mechanical :

A fully equip workshop was established where cars were overall and attended from the public.

The Steel Industry :

Welding :
Projects like garden furniture, barbeques, etc was undertake with enormous demand. The pupils worked on a belt system to improve productivity.

Fitting & Turning :
This workshop was fully incorporated with the industry and supplied products for manufacturers.

Courses:

Established a learning facility for Office skills, the learners functioned as operators and clerks in companies.
Developed a Centrum for the learners to get practical experience in copying, filing, using computers, exhibitions and packaging as well as the use of a cash register. This facility was a huge success because of the optimum development of private customers. The Centrum has become economical within six months.

Domestic:

With the main objective of the SAQA framework in mind the Home Industry Centrums were changed from a classroom to a profitable home industry. The learners were gaining experience in the basic goals of entrepreneurs, such as productivity, cost estimating and profit; as well as effective use of resources.
Turned a Domestic Science Center into a fully operational kitchen and home industry with a turnover of R15 000 per year.

Security:

Established a Security Training Center, which was accredited by POSLEI SETA
Magalies School was the first provider that was accredited by the Security Chamber. The chamber did the accreditation and the learners received their accreditation from the Chamber.

Estimating, Cost Control and Planning :

Was closely involved with the estimating of cost, the control of expenses and the planning of time involved in the centrums. Developed project control systems for material and tools to control the loss of equipment to a minimum.

Others :

Was involved from 1994 when the NQF development took place for Headmasters.
Magalies School was identified as a project school by the Department of Education and all training was done according to the NQF standards.

Outstanding Achievements :

He received an Award by the Department of Education for exceptional services and outstanding achievements in 1992. The award was handed over by Prof Bredenkamp, Director of Education.

Head Track and Field judge for three decades.

Was the National Coach of RSA (woman) 1971 - 1975 and developed movements that were performed on the step bars for girls/women Internationally.
