1995 - 2001 involved in project control at macro-levels.. over thirty years international plants.during this period he was involved in the design of an integrated control system. approximately ten years experience in project management and construction of chemical and petro-chemical projects as well as overland pipelines and materials handling projects.

Position: lead estimator.
Responsible for the estimation of all changes which took place during the engineering phase of the mozal aluminium smelter project in mozambique. value of project r 7200 million. leading a team of ten estimators and quantity surveyors. all estimates were order of magnitude to indicate the financial trend to management.
September 95-june 98 - Fluor Daniel SA Ltd
Position: estimating specialist.
Most of the work was exponential estimating for management. several studies were carried out on large projects outside of south africa such as tanzania, kenia and indonesia. studies incorporated chemical, petro-chemical, breweries and material handling plants.
1988-1995 Central Energy Fund (pty) ltd.
Position: manager project control.
As manager project control he was involved at the macro level of control on all energy projects in the republic of South-Africa. also in this capacity he was involved in the evaluation of several projects and estimates. (mossgas, aeci, gencor-t, weskem and others). during his employment he controlled the syncat project from initiation to completion.he was also involved in new studies for future projects and this included a fair amount of exponential and factored estimating.
1987-1988 - E. L. Bateman Project Holdings Ltd.
Position: manager systems and training.
Responsible for the design and development of computer systems and training of staff in these systems.
1982-1987 - Engineering Management Services ltd (ems).
Position: cost engineering manager.
As department manager he was responsible for estimating and cost engineering.was involved in the development of emsics (ems integrated control system) which included a new code of accounts. responsibilities also included: budget control, estimate reviews, project reviews, feasibility studies, analysis and cost studies and statistics.
1980 - 1982 - Fluor Engineering (Pty) Ltd.
Position: supervisor cost engineering.
Assigned to the afprene project for karbochem in newcastle. served for 18 months on the directorate of this project of which 6 months as head of the directorate.responsible for the cost and scheduling function and the liaison between fluor manchester, snam-progretti in basing-stoke, fluor johannesburg and karbochem newcastle natal.

Responsible for all cost engineering functions on projects and acting in an advisory capacity to all departments on cost engineering matters.the writing of procedures and cost engineering manuals. involvement in cost studies and the continuing development of the e.l.bateman computerised project control system. designing of a new project cost control system. development of a new code of accounts.staff +12 technical.

Leading a team of estimators in the execution of estimates for chemical and petro-chemical projects. as senior estimator :the preparation and making of estimates. the leading of a study group. the setting up of a databank.

Position: construction engineer.
The erection of chemical, petro-chemical and material handling plants, such as ethylene plant, oxygen plant, furnaces, gas concrete plant, overland pipelines and fertilizer plants
1958-1965 - S.A. Coal Oil and Gas Coporation Ltd. South Africa.
Position: 1964-1965 project manager.
1961-1964 project engineer.
1958-1961 design engineer.
The design was partly done to the german specification 'din" and partly to the american "asme". the projects handled in this period were a.o. dust extraction plant, conveyor systems, caustic regeneration plant, naphtha cracking furnaces and catalyst preparation plant.
